ACTnow, formerly ACT in Faith of Greater West Chester, provides gap services – addressing issues that present as barrier to self-sustainability and household stability. This is done via three program areas:
~Basic Needs (e.g., groceries, medical expenses, clothing)
~Employment Support (e.g., transportation costs, ID, cell phone, resume/job search, education fees, and childcare costs)
~Housing Stabilization (e.g., eviction and utility shut-off prevention, fuel, security deposits, and storage)
~System navigation as it relates any of the above (e.g.information and referral, benefit/housing enrollment and recertification assistance)
Our Client Emergency Fund provides financial assistance to West Chester residents and homeless households, and our Community Cupboard provides personal care and household items (not covered by SNAP/FoodStamps), as well as both perishable and non-perishable food and is open to anyone in Chester County.
